DisLike Button- The Raging Spot

DisLike Button- The Raging Spot

What can probably happen worse if Facebook launched Dislike button? Uhm the people on fb who post their deepest sorrows as statuses like “I don’t wanna live anymore..life is cruel” will probably get a hatred of “dislikes” because they know obviously- Life doesn’t use Facebook, so bad choice! . Again, what can probably happen worse if Facebook launched Dislike Button? The respected-flowery-poetry starting from so called life betrayals to heartache Statuses will surely get to see the truth that we have NO interest in knowing their life miseries. Once again, what can probably happen worse if Facebook launched Dislike Button? The spams of advertisements that are commented on the Facebook pages will get hit by the clusters of virtual rocks purely made of “Dislikes” .(No offense but I honestly support this cause ). For the last time, what can probably happen worse if Facebook launched Dislike Button? People posting on public pages, spamming comments that say “ if you didn’t repost this comment 20 more times, you’ll die”. Yeah as if, the Death reaper is just surfing on Facebook to find people to kill. They would probably get hatred of dislikes for a very good reason I must say.

See, There are so many good reasons and yet Facebook won’t make a dislike button to end such agony. So that brings us to point, why? Well honestly, people have been requesting a dislike button for so long is because they need to show their emotions and reflect a truth. But CEO of Facebook, Mark Zukerberg has something else to say about it:

“Some people have asked for a Dislike button because they want to be able to say ‘That thing isn’t good’. And that’s not something that we think is good for the world. So we’re not going to build that. I don’t think there needs to be a voting mechanism about whether posts are good or bad. I don’t think that’s socially very valuable or good for the community to help people share the important moments in their lives.”

Fair Enough, but to enlighten this theory I’ll tell you why the reasons mentioned in the loop of Question in the start aren’t good enough. There are two reasons, first is Society and second is business.

Society, if people will have the power to dislike something and show their prominent hatred towards it, it will surely end into a mess and next thing you know is you’re blocked by that person. A big picture of this scenario will explain that everyone will get a weapon to reflect their grudge about what so ever they feel. And as publically people are more sentimental, they’ll end up having a fight or the person will get degraded by the dislikes he gets. The positive figure that people show will turn into a massacre of morals of the society.

Lastly Business, people know the likes on their posts and statuses makes them happy and their self-confidence increases. The dislike button will do the opposite, it will decrease their self-esteem and the number of posts and statuses will eventually decrease. This will result in people living in shadows and never showing themselves on the platform of social media i-e Facebook. And living in shadows mean no longer users will be actively participating on Facebook and expectedly this will affect the business. And the reality is nobody wants a bad business.

Keeping in mind the effects of dislike button on Facebook, it’s better to be safe than sorry. So saving us from this rage should eventually result in a happy-go-lucky environment that is better for the society and for the company itself.
Lastly, Like button brings the good in you so let people embrace that thought ^_^

With that being said, I’ll log off.
Stay tuned people – Mah Gul Hamza
