INTRODUCTION: This circuit is used to flash a led. It comprises of a 555 timer IC which is used to generate a continuous output in the form of a square wave. This output will lead to turn on the led. The switching speed of this led depends upon the values of Resistors being used. This circuit uses small amount of current which enhances the battery life so that it can be left on permanently. Any bright color led could be used that will provide a bright flash with less current.

WORKING: The one of the easiest methods to light up a light emitting diode is by the usage of 555 timer IC ( i-e: used for various timing operations).This utilizes a 555 timer to be in a stable mode of operation. As a result, square pulses will be generated on the output of the circuit at particular frequency that can be determined by the components being used between the pins of 555 timer .The ground is the most negative ground potential of the device which gets operated from the positive supply voltages, the trigger pin causes the output to go high and begin the timing cycles, the output pin of the 555 timer moves to a high level of 1.7 volts less than the supply voltage when the timing cycle begins. The dipping speed of led can be controlled by adding capacitance across the circuit. Potentiometer will help to tune the circuit.
